Joining The SIG and GDPR

when looking at GDPR and the new data protection ‘landscape’ I kept hitting the same hurdle: seek legal advice. For this reason I have decided to no longer collect or store data on members outside of Facebook (Facebook manage GDPR consent in their own terms and conditions).


I appreciate some people prefer not to use social media. If that is the case, then please continue to visit this site for information on the SIG and shows that we will attend. You can also get in touch via email if you have any queries, contact details are available on the IPMS website.


I await direction centrally from the IPMS on how the society and this SIG can comply with GDPR. For now, I appreciate your understanding and patience whilst I seek clarity. With the GDPR compliance deadline looming I have deleted any information that I was holding in a Mailchimp list. This may be an over reaction and beyond what is required by the legislation, but I am playing it safe. For the same reason, the contact form has been removed as it too was capturing personal data.
